Emmy Award nominee KEVIN JAMES most recently produced, co-wrote, and
starred as the title character in 2009's box office hit Paul Blart:
Mall Cop, and in 2007 starred opposite Adam Sandler in I Now Pronounce
You Chuck and Larry.
In 2007, James completed a nine-year run as
the star and executive producer of the hit CBS/Sony television series,
“The King of Queens.” The show, which continues to air daily in
syndication across the country and around the world, garnered James an
Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
James
started his stand-up comedy career on the Long Island comedy scene. He
made the transition to television after being discovered at the 1996
Montreal Comedy Festival, where he signed a network development deal to
create his own show.
In 2001, James starred in “Sweat the Small
Stuff,” a one-hour stand-up special for Comedy Central. In 2005 Kevin
James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports
Special “Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach.” The documentary
follows James and Romano as they attempt to make the cut at the annual
Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament. The special was nominated for a
Sports Emmy.
James broke into the film world in 2005 in the
Columbia Pictures box-office hit Hitch starring opposite Will Smith.
In 2006, his voice was featured as the lead character, Otis, for the
Nick Movies animated feature Barnyard, and he provided voice work as
well as movement for Officer Landers in the motion-capture animated
film Monster House for Sony.
Next up James is due to re-team
with Adam Sandler in a comedy for Columbia Pictures. They will be
joined by Chris Rock, Rob Schneider and David Spade. Following this
film James is due to start work on “The Zookeeper” for MGM.
